Please note that there are price breaks per pound, the more that you get. Unless otherwise specified, the prices are, from left to right, the 1lb, 5lb, 10lb and 20 lb prices. See the Shipping Rates for more info. All the chemicals listed on this page (in blue) require a DOT-E-8249  Exemption box (see shipping rates for details)

The last thing listed behind the stock number is the hazardous class, if any, of the item. The Shipping class Legend follows. If any of these are listed after a chemical, that chemical is hazardous, but most of them may be shipped as a limited quantity with no hazmat. Those that can are as listed below in the color coding.

DW=Dangerous When Wet; SC=Spontaneously Combustible;
OX=Oxidizer; FS=Flammable Solid; FL=Flammable Liquid; PM=Poisonous Material;
CM=Corrosive Material; AG=Aerosol Gas; ORM=ORM-D (cannot be shipped with dissimilar hazmat items, but is not hazardous itself)

For our safety as well as yours, we ship everything according to applicable regulations. The DOT has no sense of humor whatsoever!

Note: For instructions on using the shopping cart, click here.

Color Coding:
Green - means that particular item is not considered hazardous. However, items that are listed as ORM-D CANNOT be shipped to other countries (no international shipping). It is illegal to ship hazmat and/or ORM-D materials in international mail! E-mail us if you have a question on a partcular item. ORM-D's are not considered hazardous by domestic ground service.
Orange - means the item is normally hazardous, but we can ship it without a hazmat fee (in 1LB quanities, up to 10LBs, at 1LB price)
Red - means that the item must be shipped hazardously, regardless of qty ordered.
Blue - require a DOT-E-8249 Exemption box and hazardous fees.

<==============================>
If you are placing an order with us online, you must be on file with us, regardless of what your first order is. This means that we have to have a signed in ink order form and a copy of your driver's license on file. If you do not have these things on file with us, it will just delay your order. You only have to do it once and then you can order whenever you would like. Go to our order form page to print out the order form there. Then you can use that to fill out and send in.
<==============================>

For the MSDS information buttons, please realize these may or may not be the same ones that come with your order. We have them included here for your convenience and they are pulled from the internet, not necessarily from the manufacturer that we get the material from.

   Curing Catalyst Dabco TMR-5, quaternary ammonium salt trimerization catalyst for pour in place or blown rigid and semi-rigid foams, - FS - Stock #C144TMR5      ORM-D
Dabco TMR 5, a relatively new trimerization catalyst developed by Air Products, is based on a nonfugitive amine, providing reduced odor versus standard quaternary ammonium salt catalysts. Dabco TMR-5 catalyst is a tertiary amine that promotes the polyisocyanurate reaction (trimerization). It provides a uniform and controlled rise profile compared to potassium based catalysts. Can be used in rigid foam applications, pour in place molded objects and masks, tanker insulations, piping insulation and spray foams. TMR-5 also permits the reaction to proceed using 3% to 15% water as the blowing agent for energy absorbing foams made from the isocyanate reactive mixture through carbon dioxide (system curative) production, a result from the reaction of water and an isocyanate. Firefox supplies the following materials that can be used for the production of pour in place or blown rigid and semi-rigid foams; Trimerization Catalyst Dabco TMR-5, Silicone Surfactant BYK-306, Isocyanate Curatives Isonate 143-L and Isophorone Diisocyanate, Polyol Polyester Stepanol PS-2022 or Polyurethane HTPB Polybutadiene resins, Secondary Polyols MineralOil, Castor Oil, Glycerine or Glycerol, Polyropylene Glycol or Phthalic Anhydride, Fire/Flame Resistant Agent Muscovite Mica, Plasticizers Dibutyl Phthalate, Dioctyl Maleate, Soybean Oil, and Blowing Agent Catalyst Polycat 8.

sunburst_new    Curing Agent Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP) 35-40% in Dimethyl Phthalate concentrated liquid curing agent - Stock #CMEKP    ORM-D
Wikipedia; Concentrated Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP) is an organic peroxide, a high explosive similar to acetone peroxide. MEKP is a colorless, oily liquid whereas acetone peroxide is a white powder at STP; MEKP is slightly less sensitive to shock and temperature, and more stable in storage. MEKP is a severe skin irritant and can cause progressive corrosive damage or blindness. Dilute solutions of 30 to 60% MEKP are used in industry and by hobbyists as the catalyst which initiates the crosslinking of unsaturated polyester resins used in glass-reinforced plastics, and casting. For this application, MEKP is dissolved in dimethyl phthalate (as sold), cyclohexane peroxide, or diallyl phthalate to reduce sensitivity to shock. Benzoyl peroxide (Perkadox CH-50) can be used for the same purpose. The standard ratio is 1 oz. of MEKP to 1 gallon of polyester resin. For smaller quantities, please refer to the ratios below. Because there are numerous factors that govern the cure rate of the resin, the ratios listed are suggested starting points only. Always do a test with a small amount of resin first before mixing up a larger batch.

1 oz resin: 20 drops MEKP
16 oz resin: 1/8 oz MEKP
32 oz resin: 1/4 oz MEKP
64 oz resin: 1/2 oz MEKP

 sunburst_new    Curing Agent - Tert-Butyl Peroxybenzoate (TBPB), (Tert-Butyl Benzenecarboperoxide), liquid [C11H14O3]   Stock # CTBPB      ORM-D
TBPB is a clear, semi-clear liquid with an oxidizer content of 8% used for the polymerization or co-polymerization of a variety of polymers and plastics. It has a density @ 20°C of 1040 kg/m3,  and a viscosity @ 20°C of 6 mPa.s.

Applications (taken from Tianjin McEit website)
1. Polymerization of styrene; TBPB can be used for the polymerization and copolymerization of styrene in the temperature range of 100-140°C. During polymerization the temperature is increased in steps.
2. Polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates; TBPB can be used as initiator for the solution (co)polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates in the temperatures range of 100-170°C, amongst others for the coatings. TBPB can also be applied as an initiator for the bulk and suspension (co)polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates.
3. Polymerization of ethylene; TBPB is an efficient initiator for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both autoclave and tubular processes.To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures, combinations with other peroxides are applied in practice. Depending on reaction conditions. TBPB is active in the temperature range of 220-270°C.
4. Other applications; TBPB can also be used for the (co)polymerization of acrylonitrile and vinyl acetate.
5. Crosslinking Peroxides; TBPB, is suitable for crosslinking of EPDM rubber compounds at ambient temperature within some weeks. Rubber compounds containing TBPB have moderate processing safety in combination with a very high speed of cure.
6. Peroxides for Thermoset Resins; TBPB, tert-butyl peroxybenzoate, is an aromatic perester, which is used for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins at elevated temperatures. TBPB is preferred for the curing of UP resin based Hot Press Moulding formulations (SMC, BMC, ZMC etc) in the temperature range of 120 - 170°C.
